Highly Animated - Pop culture art exhibition and event series

“Highly Animated” is an OPEN-CALL exhibit where we invite any and everyone the chance to have their artwork displayed in a professional gallery and possibly win our contest. The Artwork will contain our favorite saga/storytelling characters in new inventive ways as well as some new original characters we’ve never met before! Submitted artwork will be juried into two (2) categories; Original Characters & Fan Art Expressionism.

Along with the art exhibit, we will host an "Artists' Alley" style vendor expo on Saturday, November 22nd, 1:00pm-8:00pm. The Artists' Alley features, but is not limited to "merch" and handmade items like stickers, posters, jewelry and art prints. Last year everyone who attended enjoyed the event and it offered something different for those doing holiday shopping in Olney. Stop in to shop the event and enter a raffle with fun prizes including "One Piece" themed Lego sets!
We still have a few vendor tables open for rental at reasonable prices. If you are a local vedor that stocks merchandise that fits the "Pop-culture" theme of the event, we would be happy to have you join us as a part of the Artists' Alley.

Opening Reception:                 Sunday October 12th, 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Reception and Artist's Alley:         Saturday November 22rd, 1:00pm – 8:00pm

Entry Deadline:                 Tuesday September 30, 2025 - 11;59pm

In addition, throughout the months of October and November, we will be holding special costumed figure drawing sessions of some of our favorite characters. Live models will pose in “cos-play”. No artistic experience required to attend, our sessions are designed to be fun and social. Just bring your pencil and sketchbook or whatever art media you prefer. We have table-top and stand-up easels available for you to use.

- Sessions are $25 each or $80 for four consecutive sessions.

- Sessions are held on Fridays from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, with some additional special sessions on select Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:30pm
