Join Sandy Spring Museum on Friday, October 17th as local resident, artist and archeology buff Lynne Bulhack shares how one visit to Point Lookout State Park in Southern Maryland inspired her interest in the world of archeology and prehistoric pottery.
During a December 1998 visit to Point Lookout State Park, Lynne uncovered a number of prehistoric pottery fragments, later identified as Mockley (A.D. 200-A.D. 900) as she was walking along the shoreline. Radio Carbon dates later identified these fragments to be the earliest Woodland period site in Maryland.
