SUMMARY:Lost Lagers: Recreating Historic Beers
DESCRIPTION:Beer brewing traditions in North American date back to the days of the first settlers. William Penn erected a brewery in the late 1600s and George Washington's 1757 journals include a recipe for beer. This historical subject cries out for our attention! Enter the founders of Lost Lagers\, Mike Stein and Pete Jones who have combined their skills in historic research and home brewing in order to recreate beers of the 18th and 19th centuries. Their expertise range across many decades and beer making regions including collaborative beers brewed at professional breweries in the District of Columbia\, including the Maryland\, and Virginia. Taste beers donated from Washington DC's Bluejacket brewery and Virginia's Lost Rhino Brewing Company and join Lost Lagers Co-Founders Mike Stein and Pete Jones to sample what historic beers taste like. From easy drinking to complex\, from clean and smooth to vinous and challenging\, dark ale and lager broaden the spectrum of what we consider beer and allow us to drink history. Mike and Pete will be pouring: Bluejacket Strong Ale Bluejacket Table Ale Bluejacket X Ale Bluejacket 1812 Project Blend Porter Lost Rhino Tmavy Czech Dark Lager (Rescheduled from Fri Jan 22)
