DESCRIPTION:Glenelg Country School (GCS) presents Hot Mikado on March 4\, 5\, 6 at 7:00pm and March 7 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. The performance is appropriate for all ages and open to the public. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www.glenelg.org/hotmikado. \n\n \n\nJapan and jazz are coming to Glenelg Country School! Gilbert and Sullivan's classic operetta\, The Mikado\, gets a "scorching" update in Hot Mikado. Opera style is replaced with sounds of 1940s jazz and blues music for a unique and sizzling musical to be enjoyed by all.\n\n\n\nTake a break from the stress of your everyday life\, and find an escape in the town of Titipu\, where despite life or death circumstances\, people still manage to find time to tap their toes and sing about their twisted love triangles.\n\n\n\nDespite its setting in the 1940s\, Hot Mikado manages to pull elements from a wide variety of decades. It allows audience members to look back and remember times of the past\, similar to the Glenelg Country School community\, as we celebrate the school's 60th Anniversary. Throughout this school year\, members of the GCS community have gathered together to honor 60 years of being dragons.\n\n\n\nTwenty-nine years after its opening at the Ford's Theatre\, Hot Mikado returns to the Baltimore-Washington area.
