SUMMARY:ARTINA 2017 Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Wind your way through a sculpture park of original works of art situated on the museum's rustic grounds. ARTINA 2017 creates awareness among visitors of the need to reconnect with nature and preserve nature for future generations.  Art can serve as a mediator between nature and people to call public attention to the benefits of a healthy and environmentally meaningful and sustainable life.\n\n\n\nThe diverse\, layered concept of ARTINA 2017 functions not only as an aesthetic stimulator to promote a creative and sustainable environment\, it also helps us to understand the connection between humans and nature.  Visitors will find beauty in materials and forms\, and recognize their importance within living systems.\n\nJuried by Ursula Achternkamp\, artists include c.l. bigelow\, Elsab  Dixon\, Mary Annella "Mimi" Frank\, Eve Hennessa\, Martha Jackson Jarvis\, Jin Lee\, Cat Lukens\, Raina Martens\, Grant McFarland\, Maryanne Pollock\, Marc Robarge\, Casey Snyder\, and Diane Szczepaniak.\n\n\n\nTake a free art class with three of the artists: Diane\; Marc\; or Maryanne.\n\nARTINA 2017 is the second collaboration between Sandy Spring Museum and Washington Sculptors Group.  This project is funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
