SUMMARY:2016 Chamber Awards Dinner
DESCRIPTION:"Celebration of Excellence"\n\n\n\n2016 Awards & Installation Dinner\n\nWednesday\, June 1\, 2016\n\n\nReservations are now open for the Chamber's annual Awards & Installation Dinner. Last year's edition saw increased attendance as over 100 members and guests gathered at Manor Country Club to honor community neighbors\, businesses and scholars. This year's event promises even more highlights!\n\n\n\nWe are returning to the exquisite setting of Manor Country Club\, with these mouth watering entree choices: Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Lemon Dill Sauce - or - Roasted London Broil in a Peppercorn Sauce - or - a Vegetarian Entree. Special dietary considerations can be accommodated by notifying the Chamber in advance.\n\n\n\nThe 2016 "Celebration of Excellence" edition marks the inaugural presentation of the "Act Responsibly Scholarship" to a graduating High School student. Created to honor and preserve the legacy of Police Officer Noah Leotta\, the scholarship seeks to recognize a local graduating senior pursuing a career that reflects the ideals he exemplified. Noah's family will join us in this celebration of his memory\, and Montgomery County Chief of Police\, J. Thomas Manger\, will be our guest speaker.\n\n\n\nDuring the evening\, we will honor the 2016 Business Person of the Year\, Karen Rollings\, owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty. The prestigious Partner in Business Award will be presented to Rafie Ansari and FloorMax. And\, to further acknowledge their meaningful contributions\, the Chamber will recognize Kelly Mazzeo\, and the other amazing women nominated for the Annual Greater Olney-Sandy Spring ATHENA Award. Join us to congratulate them all.\n\n\n\nContinuing it's commitment to recognize the importance of education\, the Chamber will again present $1000 Scholarships to outstanding high school seniors chosen from applications submitted by local graduating students. In addition\, Claire Jenkins\, of Our Lady of Good Counsel HS\, will receive the 2016 ATHENA Scholar Award of $1\,500.\n\n\n\nSeating is limited to 180 and the time frame to complete reservations is short. Don't delay!
